Safety and privacy
Dugeuni is built so you show little until you choose to show more, and so the safety tools are always close. Here's what happens with your data and what you can do at every step.
We don't sell your data, we don't show ads, and the app uses no advertising or analytics trackers.
What others see
A profile is text. This is what another person sees, and when:

We never show your email, your birthdate (only your age) or the name of your time zone. And we don't ask for your location.
Your Discord and Steam handles
Linking accounts is optional. To link one, you sign in to Discord or Steam and confirm the account is yours; Dugeuni never sees your password for those services. Linking Discord also imports, as badges, other accounts you've connected there, such as Xbox or Twitch.
Before a match, people see only the badge: “Verified on Discord”. For each account, you decide whether your matches see your handle or just the badge (then they read “Kept private”). You can change that, or remove the account, at any time.
A badge means the person proved the account is theirs. It doesn't confirm who they are.
Block and unmatch
You can block someone from the menu on their profile or in your chat, at any time. When you block:
- the match and the chat end, and any pending like between you is deleted;
- you won't see each other again in Discover or Likes;
- the other person can't tell a block from an unmatch.
If you unmatch, you won't be able to message each other, and you won't meet again in Discover. Either way, messages are kept for 30 days in case a report needs them, then deleted.
Your blocks are in Settings, under Blocked people. Unblocking doesn't bring back the match or the messages.
Report
From the same menu, you can report someone and choose a reason: fake profile, underage, harassment, inappropriate content, spam or scam, or other. You can add details, up to 1,000 characters. Reporting also blocks the person, unless you choose otherwise.
We never tell the person you reported that it was you.
Download your data
In Settings, under Your data, you download a JSON file right away with everything Dugeuni keeps about you: your profile, games, linked accounts, matches, messages, blocks and consents. We don't keep a copy of that file.
You can download it twice a day, and we email you each time, in case it wasn't you.
Delete your account
In Settings, under Delete account: we email you a code, and when you confirm it, you're signed out on every device. You can also do it without the app, on our deletion page. If your account is suspended or banned, write to [email protected].
Pause
If you need a break, pause discovery from your profile. Nobody new will see you, your chats stay open, and you can still see who liked you. Resume whenever you like.
Take care
- Keep your handles private until you feel comfortable.
- Never send money or codes to someone you met in the app. Dugeuni will never ask for your password or your codes.
- If something feels off, block or report. You don't need a reason to block.
